This is an insider’s wine to which the cognoscenti remain faithful year after year. The sites are planted on a plateau 130 feet above sea level. One plot, with light, loam-based soils, lies adjacent to our highly-renowned Château La Grave à Pomerol and the other, quite different, lies on deep beds of gravel and clay.
This is the perfect complementary environment for vines which, with an average age of 35 years or more, are able to produce grapes with a diverse spectrum of flavours, thus imparting a complex and appealing structure to the resulting wine. Despite having a profusion of legendary vintages under its belt, little is known of the excellent property – an insider’s wine.
