Napanook Dominus Estate 2017

Napanook Dominus Estate 2017

89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. Bordeaux-like cedar and cassis aromas with sweeter spices – tamarind and clove – and a zesty citric lift – pithy orange and pomegranate. The palate has bright red cherry and raspberry fruit, with a tannic squeeze on the mid-palate, which herds the blossoming flavours into a rigorous, precise and long, darker-fruited finish. Picked from 21st September to 3rd October. Aged in 20% new French oak barrels for 16 months. Around 40% of a normal crop in 2017.

"Napanook is a 42ha estate behind some of the finest Napas of the ‘40s and ‘50s. Christian Moueix has produced wines here since 1982, being sole owner since 1995."
