Marvellous Bordeaux Reds

Bordeaux reds are generally blends of five permitted red grapes; Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec.  The wines of the Medoc on the left bank are predominately bigger, heavier Cabernet-based blends while the wines of the Right Bank (Pomerol, St. Émilion, etc..) are predominantly softer Merlot-based blends.
