CÔTEAUX BOURGUIGNON PUR PINOT

This is an instant pleasure wine, with the classic fresh crunchy red fruits’ aromas of the pinot noir grape jumping out of the glass. It is vibrant, it fresh, it is asking for another bottle almost. A very enjoyable daily drinking wine.

MOREY SAINT DENIS GRAINS FINS

Floral notes, sweet spice, dark fruit and a touch of forest aromas dominate the nose. The palate is balanced, with a refreshing acidity, more present than the nose was suggesting. It is an elegant Morey, the usual earthy notes are well balanced by ripe tannins and flavors of ripe dark cherry. It is a good and appealing wine. it will drink well early and benefit of ageing.

MOREY SAINT DENIS LES FACONNIERES 1ER CRU

Surprisingly the appearance of this cuvee is lighter than the Grains Fins, while the aromas are deeper and darker. Game, earth, leather and dark fruits are the first aromas followed by a hint of black truffles with aeration. The palate is opulent with black cherry, wild raspberry, a touch of wet red rose petals. The tannins are sweet and opulent supported by a well defined acidity. No hurry to drink this wine.

CHAMBOLLE-MUSIGNY LES SENTIERS 1ER CRU

The dark colour is deceptive because the wine is dominated by red fruits aromas, some sweet spice and an elegant floral note. Upon tasting, it is elegance and softness that you get. The tannins are coated, the finish is long, the wine has a good volume. It has the energy and the flesh to age well.

CLOS SAINT DENIS GRAND CRU

This is a real step up from the 1er cru, at the level of elegance and complexity. What strikes in 2019 is the opulence of the wines and the ripeness of the tannins. All the wines taste very well being rich and creamy. The Clos Saint Denis is inviting from the first smell. Ripe red fruit dominates, supported by mineral notes and sweet spices like cinnamon. On the palate the structure is well defined, the aromas are a blend of current, black cherry, lifted by crushed rose petals. There is a touch of black tea, a touch of game and forest flavours. It is a powerful wine, lively, built to age.
