Domaine Jean-Marc Pillot

Domaine Jean-Marc Pillot En Primeur 2020

François Carillon is the one who introduced Domaine Jean-Marc Pillot to us.

Jean-Marc has been working at the estate since 1985 and has managed it since 1991. He has implemented several changes such as the construction of new facilities and has expanded the number of vineyards. He also reduced the use of new oak to mostly utilize “3-year-old” barrels for a lower average of new oak (around 10%). His son, Antonin has now joined him and helps with the production.

The lean, fresh and complex style of wines convinced us to accept and take Jean-Marc’s wines on board. From the nearly 15 hectares of vineyards, the production of white wine is still dominant but almost half of it is dedicated to Pinot Noir for the making of red wines, which is unusual for Chassagne-Montrachet.

The vines in most parcels are between 25 and 50 years old but can reach 90 years old in some premiers crus of Chassagne-Montrachet.

We will start with a good selection of wines both white and red and are looking forward to welcoming Jean-Marc to Hong Kong to share as much as we can with all wine lovers.

The 2020s will be released shortly.
