CHAMPAGNE J.M. LABRUYÈRE

A fabulous Pinot Noir-dominant Champagne from Verzenay. With great body and freshness, this complements food very well but is equally delicious on its own.

There is a beguiling blend of strawberries and cream, frozen raspberries and delicate traces of cocoa – a wine with real character, sophisticated yet inviting.

Focussed, with a compressed energy, orchard fruit prevails , complemented by refined minerals. The finish, long and elegant, suggests a very promising future – warranting some bottle ageing.

From the 2016 vintage, this is an exceptionally pure expression of Pinot Noir taken from the estate’s top vineyards of Champs Saint-Martin Les Longues Raies and La Chenille in Verzenay. The nose offers glimpses of stony minerality and bright red berry fruit nuanced by brioche and almond paste. The densely packed palate reveals crunchy raspberries and clipped acidity, with mineral tension building towards a powerful and long finish. This will repay cellaring but is already drinking beautifully. A fine example of Verzenay Blanc de Noirs.

Fabulous on its own or a great Champagne to pair with food, whether seafood, white meat, red meat or even game. It has the body, acidity and freshness to accompany and complement your festive meals
