French GourMay 2023 | Bubble Up

This year at French GourMay, Corney & Barrow is proud to feature some of our fabulous sparkling wines from Champagne, Jura and Savoie.

Champagne Valentin Leflaive's story has its roots in the history of the Leflaive family from Puligny Montrachet. The owner, Olivier Leflaive, brought decades of Burgundian know-how and his passion in Champagne making.  Named after his son, Champagne Valentin Leflaive began its journey of initiation in 2015. A proportion of the wines are aged in old Burgundy barrels which have previously been used to age the Grands Crus of Puligny-Montrachet of Olivier Leflaive.

Marquis de Bonnieres, a classic trio of Champagne varietals aged on the lees for 2 years, delivers a fine and refreshing Champagne. This is a blend of Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs; Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims and Pinot Meunier from the Vallée de la Marne.

Henri Giraud has been a family-run business for five generations. The Giraud house is one of the few houses that conduct primary fermentations in oak barrels which are locally sourced from the Argonne forest. Without the use of stainless steel and with the minimum of interventions or sulphur, the wines truly reflect the characteristic of each grape variety and the terroir of the vineyard.

Domaine du Pélican A stunning organic and biodynamic winery from Jura was founded in 2012 by Guillaume d’Angerville, of Domaine Marquis d’Angerville from Volnay. The Brut S Zero is made with 100% Savagnin, a local grape of Jura.  ‘S’ for Savagnin, and zero (°) for no dosage. No sugar and yeasts were added in this beautiful sparkling.

Last but not least, don’t miss out on our C&B own label Sparkling Blanc de Blancs Methode Traditionnelle – a fine and refreshing sparkling from France!

Together with some of the best and most prestigious restaurants in the city, a series of special menus are curated to pair with our wonderful champagnes and French sparkling wines. From French Sparkling Wines Tastings to Champagne food pairing menus, it be a part of the “Bubble Up” programmes of French GourMay this year. Discover our bubble-licious Champagnes from Valentin Leflaive, Marquis de Bonnieres and Henri Giraud. Don’t miss the other stunning French sparkling wines on offer such as Domaine du Pélican with indigenous varietal Savagnin from Jura, and the Ugni Blanc blend from Savoie by Corney & Barrow.
